Brazil, China, and India will outspend US on mobile ads by 2016
Brazil, China, and India are expected to surpass the U.S. in total mobile ad spend by 2016. The three countries, commonly grouped with Russia as "BRIC" nations, will increase mobile ad dollars six times over to exceed $6 billion over the next four years. In contrast, the U.S. will invest approximately half this amount in the same period while Europe scrimps with just above $1 billion.

Survey says retail brand apps push store visits and more purchases
Retailers who have published their own branded smartphone apps are gaining marketing benefits, a new report notes. In a consumer survey conducted in December last year, 45% of smartphone users who have downloaded these apps said it influenced them to pay visits to the brands’ brick and mortar stores.

Mobile gaming in the US grows to 101 million; premium players up 35%
The latest information on the US mobile gaming market shows that at the end of Q1 2012, the number of mobile gamers rose 34.6% to 101 million year on year. Smartphone users make up the majority of these players at 69% while 21% are tablet gamers.07 May 2012

Global mobile media revenue at $150B in 2012 as adspend and consumption rise
New research has revealed an increasingly mobile economy based on the way consumers prefer digital content. Worldwide mobile media consumption in 2011 generated revenue that crossed the $100 billion mark for the first time ever and is expected to further grow by 17% to $149.8 billion in 2012.
