The global mobile content market will be worth US$18.6 billion in 2017 with the industry set for a 19% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) over the next five years. The mobile gaming segment is seen to be the biggest player in the forecast with an estimated US$11.4 billion in revenue by 2017.

A new study cited favourable attitudes and behavioural trends of tablet users towards advertising. As prompted by seeing an ad, 29% of tablet users say they searched for product info on the device, 23% clicked on an the ad, 20% took up special offers or coupon, and 19% felt prompted to view a product’s website.

Global mobile advertising revenue topped $5.3B in 2011

According to a newly published report, the worldwide mobile advertising market reached a total value of $5.3 billion in 2011. The Asia Pacific leads regional market share at 31.4% followed by North America with 31.4% and Europe, 25.9%, while Latin America and the Middle East & Africa markets contribute 3.5% and 3.2%, respectively.
