European companies to invest more in mobile apps over next 5 years
All across Europe, management teams are exerting fervent efforts to employ all methods in the book to successfully transition their businesses into mobile-enabled enterprises. As such, the Western European mobile enterprise application market (MEAP) is projected to have CAGR above 25% over the next five years.
The International Data Corporation (IDC) published a new study that provides a snapshot on what we can expect as companies hurdle the complexities that come with application mobilization. Building and buying mobile enterprise applications remain a challenge for companies in addition to keeping pace with trends in the mobile enterprise market.
"IT teams need more efficient and industrialized development and management tools for mobile enterprise applications to help them streamline and simplify app deployment across a fragmented mobile environment," wrote Nicholas McQuire, research director, Mobile Enterprise Strategies EMEA, IDC. "This is why the MEAP market grew in relevance in Europe in 2011 and will continue to do so over the next few years."
Indeed, European mobile enterprise application deployments grew in 2011, macroeconomic climate notwithstanding. Businesses are convinced that doing so enhanced customer engagement, business processes, and employee productivity through greater strategic enterprise mobility within their firms.
"Additionally, the market effects of increased consumerization of IT, cloud computing, and vendor innovation will combine to drive mobile enterprise apps increasingly up the European CIO agenda over the next few years as businesses continue to leverage enterprise mobility to modernize and transform the way they work," explained McQuire.
IDC's "Mobile Enterprise Applications in Western Europe: Mobile Enterprise Application Platform Market Forecast and Analysis, 2010–2015" provides CIOs and business decision makers, vendors, and channel providers with strategic and tactical direction on mobile enterprise application deployment strategies.
